Management and Method of Digital Data Sporadically Created WAKUI Haruka - No.25, p.43-52. 2018
RESUME: As various types of recording media have been widely used, a large variety of digital data is created during daily work and research in museums and stored on recording media. At the Tokyo National Museum(hereinafter referred to as “this museum”), a unique number is assigned to the image data of the collections to manage the data systematically. There is still, however, a significant amount of data left untouched by systematic data management, including data created during one-off work or research such as content creation, as well as copies of data created in other departments. Since the recording media storing this data is often neglected, many staff members are unware of its contents. This document proposes a method to grasp and properly keep track of the recording media across the organization, as well as how to handle the media to maintain the data for a long period of time.
